"A Remarkable View . . ."
Winter in the Mountains
Portfolio Includes Lipgar Prize-Winning Photograph

The December issue of Catskill Mountain Regional GUIDE, in its monthly photography portfolio, includes Homage to Turner, Ashokan Reservoir, which tied for second place in the Winter category, Guide magazine 2004 Photo Contest.

In describing the images in the Winter in the Mountains portfolio, David Finn, Founder and Chairman of the Ruder Finn Group, sponsor of the GUIDE's monthly photography portfolio, writes of the Lipgar image, "This photograph shows a remarkable view of windswept frozen water with spots of snow covered ice. The rolling clouds above are a magical counterpart to the ice below, especially with the bright blue open space in the center. It's an image the great English painter, Turner, would have loved to see." Over 1,000 images were entered in the photo contest and prizes were given in eight categories.
